University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee and often simply referred to as UTC or Chattanooga, is one of three universities and two other affiliated institutions in the University of Tennessee system. Chattanooga
enrolls 8,689 undergraduates, graduates, pre-professionals, and doctoral candidates, overseen by a staff of 347.
UTC has garnered recognition for its
Engineering,
Nursing,
English,
Chemistry, and
Education departments. In total, it has 43 bachelor degree programs, 21 graduate programs, and 39 minor programs. In order to expand its student body, Chattanooga recently began an exchange program with Kangnung National University of Kangnung, South Korea. Its
SimCenter is Chattanooga's computational engineering and simulation center, and is considered to be one of the finest in the nation.
The UTC
athletic teams are called the Mocs.
